[Update] OK, so we enjoyed one full hour consisting of the tracks from 11 to 20, it’s time for the last 10, so far there was only one track that didn’t have vocals, I’m very curious what will happen’ next…who do you think will be in the top 5?

[Update] OK, 5 more tracks to go, I’m very curois what will be next my bet goes to Tuvan, Man On the Run, Sunset Boulevard & I don’t know, maybe some Gareth Emery. I have one complaint, WTF is Broken Tonight doing in the top 10, or better in the top 20, this song doesn’t deserve number 6, there we’re many vocal songs wayyyyy better.

[Update] I didn’t even expect Beggin You to be in this top but my friend DRN has a good explanation for this, it is a new track freshly inputed in the minds of the voters.
[Update] WTF??!!! Again I didn’t expect to see this here, it’s not a bad track, definitely very very popular even with the non trance listeners but c’mon, #2??? Let’s get f-ing real people. OK now I’m betting #1 to be Gaia – Tuvan
[Update] Seems like I predicted well, nice track ,really deserves this spot, even though i was betting on RAMsterdam or Man On The Run, but this was definitely in my top 3. So another year has gone by, don’t really like the top positions to be sincere, but I’m also glad that Waiting of Broken Tonight were not #1. Oh, I forgot, this is the 4th instrumental track (well almost, it has some vocals in it) of this top so we have 4 non-vocal & 16 vocal. Thank you for “tuning in” and I’ll se you next year at the top 20 of 2010

The sidechain technique is so overrated in 2009. Nothing at all for example, that entire track/lead/buildup is sidechained :/ it still sounds cool but for how long? The deadmau5 trancestab spawned a lot of ripoffs and is very boring right know. Number two

tuvan definitely shouldnt have been tune of the year. it was good, but definitely many better tracks.

Bullshit for sure… they clearly should add up all the votes/points for each *song* (ie all mixes) and then choose the mix that has the most votes. That way my pick of Man On the Run would have been number 1.. make that number 3…

Just noticed Tuvan has multiple high voting mixes… as does Waiting (which would have totaled to #1).
Still bullshit. If they are different tracks play “On A Good Day” at 11 and at 16, and Tuvan at 1 and 17 and waiting at 2 and 19.
You can’t have it both ways! Then again that means Above and Beyond’s On A Good Day gets almost 7000 votes and beats Beggin You.

1st you got to understand that the djmag top is again, a popularity contest, the order is influenced by how many fans each dj has, how many votes he did received, not based on how good he is or based on the vote of a jury of specialists. Sincerely i always though thru the years how you could make a top not based on popularity when it comes to dj’s but i couldn’t find suitable criterias to make such a thing, what, mixing technique, number of gigs, number of releases per year, quality of releases????
2nd i don’t think that he tricked the results…let me see, he does this top for how long 4 years, maybe more, this is the 1st year one of his tracks ends up being #1, if he would have tricked the results he would have done it until now. then i don’t think he had a motive for fraud, for what….what would he have to gain by putting one of his songs number 1 in a top on his radio show. i don’t think that by doing such a thing or the simple fact that this song was #1 on that insignificant top brings him a popularity boost, also from what i know the alias Gaia won’t be used in future releases, it was a one time only thing, so it’s not even promoting this pseudonim or a future Gaia album.
I’m not defending Armin, he has become, as Tiesto, a big money making machine, a superstar DJ, it’s all marketing, you got armin t-shirts, armin iphone apps, world tours, dvds, many labels under armada etc. but at least i still respect him because he stayed focused on trance, even if it’s vocal sometimes, even if sometimes is cheesy, doesn’t matter, at least he’s not making songs with three six mafia & flo rida, and appearing in videos shot in las vegas. But i think its unfair to go FUCK ARMIN all of the sudden…for what, that you don’t like a top based on what people voted, what did you expect to find in that top, psy trance, those tunes really are very very popular, they were heavily promoted and have a very commercial side, that’s why 95% of the top is vocal trance, people who aren’t real trancers get along much better with vocal trance? What can we do, stop them for voting? He still makes trance, still is a great producer and a great dj, he has a great radioshow, he doesn’t produce nintendo style tunes like the guy i mentioned above and from my point of view he has many to offer until he ends up like oakenfold, guetta or tiesto. So let’s enjoy him while we can because in a year or 2 maybe i’ll se him making tunes with that douchebag kanye west, which will be sad,,,really really sad.
. I intervened solely because i think it is unfair to go fuck someone without an appropoate reason, i too had the ame attitude about tiesto even though i loved him in the past but for me the man just lost it, it like he went batshit crazy and changed all of the sudden, don’t know why and don’t care, maybe he doesn’t “feel” trance anymore, saying fuck armin for this top 20 is like you conducting a survey and at the end when you present the results the people which are unhappy with it are angry at you for just gathering data and presenting it.
In conclusion, i think you are unfair to diss armin for compiling a top based on what others voted and i find the fraud allegations silly, i find no motiv or gain for such a thing.

Ughhh… alot of AvB suckups voted this year i guess. The top 10 REALLY suprised me…common invisible touch #4?, original came out like 2 years ago (not a bad track but not a top one of 2009). Not one of my top 5 made it anywhere in the top 20 lol! I kinda forgot about healsville santuary when i voted, really thought that track would be higher up. I’m still shocked at the whole top 20 to be honest, i wouldn’t have guessed at least 10 of them would of been on there at all! The worst episode of the year imo. I figured tuvan would be top 3 for sure, not suprised to see it number 1, i liked the track , but not that much. Oh well, just gonna forget that this episode ever happened and wait for new mixes in 2010, a whole new year!
