Anjunadeep vol. 02 mixed by James Grant & Jaytech
Feb 13th
Anjunadeep:01 emerged as one of 2009’s most critically celebrated dance compilations, garnering album of the month slots and remaining in recommended album sections months after release, culminating in a nomination for best British record label*.
For the second installment, Above & Beyond hand over mixing duties to Anjunadeep A&R James Grant and Jaytech, their opening DJ of choice. Each mixing one CD, the pair bring together 28 exclusive tracks and mixes from the label’s varied and multi-talented roster.
Anjunadeep:02 demonstrates why the imprint has become the master navigator of the murky waters that lie somewhere between house, techno and trance, winning fans such as Laurent Garnier, Dubfire, James Zabiela and Eric Prydz along the way. Both discs showcase a unique melodic style that is spacey, hypnotic and at times soulful, underlining the widescreen vision of label owners Above & Beyond.
For CD 1, Grant’s mix weaves together tracks and remixes from 16 Bit Lolitas, Jody Wisternoff, Oliver Smith, Solarity, BT (‘Flaming June’ remix by Jaytech & Grant), and more.
On CD 2, Jaytech, whose artist album, ‘Everything Is OK’, received widespread plaudits in 2009, seamlessly blends productions from Paul Keeley, Martin Roth, Boom Jinx & Andrew Bayer, Marcus Schossow, Jamie Matrix and beyond.
“Scouts the secret alleys and distant corners of progressive music and returns bearing rare treasures” Mixmag (Album Of The Month)
“Get up close to the speaker and you’ll hear that Anjunadeep is working on a sound all of its own” DJ Magazine
“Euphoric not cheesy, soulful not syrupy: this is fine, trance-edged house with substance” IDJ

Happy New Year (in advance) & Request!!!
Dec 24th
OK, so tomorrow I’m leaving town for 5 days so I want to wish you a Heppy New Year in advance because this will be my last post from 2009, you will probably hear form me on the 4th or 5th. I hope you will spend New Year’s Eve listening to trance and drinking (drink responsibly, just kidding, drink till you pass out).
OK, and now for the request, as you know I put a lot of stress on user feedback (probably because of the profile of the college I have graduated) so I would like to know what you would like to see, hear here in the next year, or what would you like to be removed. So, if you have some suggestions or complaints please leave a comment or use the contact form.
VERY IMPORTANT! Please don’t use this as an opportunity to reopen the old download links discussion, it’s pointless the download link won’t come back and I think/hope we’re past that point.
Thank you for this wonderful year, it’s really pleasing to see that people like your work and appreciate you for it. See you next year (it’s not that far away). Out!
