Ferry Corsten @ The Roman Arenas Bucharest (10.10.2009) [Event Review]
Oct 12th
As you probably know I’m not very good at writing reviews, my friend DRN is the master of those so I’m gonna try and keep it short and simple. I want to start by saying that this is my number 2 event until now, Armin Only 2008 at the same location ( minus the tent) being my #1 (maybe because dancing in the rain on trance gives you the greatest sensation you can have). The organizing was great (unexpected for a The Mission event….in a tent even), the tracklist was great, the warmup DJ’s we’re great and of course Ferry…oh..Ferry….he was a god, living proof that you don’t need cheesy vocal trance tunes & other stuff to make a fantastic set enjoyable to absolutely everyone, no matter they we’re new to trance or trance lovers like myself. The sound was the main problem, but if you can get past that it was a night to remember. I’m sorry I missed Snatt & Vix, I mean I have only heard them for like 10 minutes and after Ferry I was too tired to stay longer. I also liked Lange, but his style of mixing was funny, many people including myself found it very amateurish and also his tracklist was aprox. 90% vocal tracks, which again I didn’t expect, many people didn’t quite enjoy it. So, in conclusion, seeing Ferry is a must and if you can go this week to see him in his hometown in Rotterdam @ Ahoy I think you’ll have the time of your life, thank you Ferry for a great night, a night to remember.
PS. Forgot, the other bad thing (well actually not that bad) is that the tracklist was somewhat predictable, I mean, I have the Backstage DVD in my car and there were many similarities, but that’s what happens in a world tour right, no matter the genre of music, you get to hear aproximately the same thing in every location.
PS2 Betsie Larkin is smokin’ hot and Made Of Love with live vocals is absolutely heavenly…
Here are my iPhone pics….I always forget to take my camera at these events to get high-quality pictures.
Deadmau5 @ Tineretului Park, Bucharest [Review]
Aug 22nd
So I decided to go in the last minute because I am really bored. I’m really not that excited, I heard on several forums that the guy is a dick, that he mixes only his tracks and remixes and doesn’t give a fuck about the crowd, just puts music for himself, also I’ve heard that he disconsiders all the DJ’s saying that “They’re Fucking Cunts”. What a cunt he is indeed…
But, well, I have nothing better to do tonight so why not give this guy a try, I like his productions, it’s tech-trance so what could go wrong, right?
I’ll make a short review tommorow, maybe add some pictures…
PS I forgot, it’s held in a fucking tent, again, don’t understand why, it’s fucking summer, it’s hot outside.
LE When I arrived at the location one friend told me that I was wrong judging Deadmau5 like that, and he was right.
The event was awesome, that guy is fucking nuts, he plays some sick tunes and dances around like crazy, really connected to the crowd, communicated with us, even played one of my friend’s request (his remix to Kasakade’s “I Remember”). That mouse head FTW!!!
Great gig, great music, although it had a bit boring part in the rest it was just really hard stuff, and I know what I’m saying because now I have a problem with my left ear (hope it will go away), and I was standing quite far from the speakers. Hard stuff, some boring tech and great trancy tunes all combined to form a wonderful set. Thank you Deadmau5 and sorry I misjudged you. I don’t know why but last night this guy reminded me of Fatboy Slim.
Also the tent thing was not bad because there weren’t alot of people so it wasn’t overcrouded or very hot inside and you had lots of room to dance.
PS Mixing with Abelton is the shit!

The Mission Dance Weekend – 2009 [Review]
Aug 8th
There are very few words that can describe in a complete and detailed, rather impartial way the feelings that I’m still vibrating on and the amazing atmosphere that surrounded the most important electronic event of the year in Romania – The Mission Dance Weekend, that took place on the 31st of July and 1st of August at the Hanul Piratilor Beach in Navodari at the Black Sea Coast…
Prologue
It’s quite amazing to watch the sun setting before an open-air festival, we all know it, but that is nothing compared to watching the sun rising on the sea after an amazing venue, after listening to trance, progressive and house beats, put together by some of the most important artists of the world.

Let me give you a glance: Glenn Morrison followed by The God Armin van Buuren and Mylo at the afterparty; the day after, the outstanding Groove Armada before Tiesto (who smashed the dancefloor, really, the sand was vibrating) and “papa” Sven Vath.
I planned my vacation so I could assist this superb festival and – I must say – it worth every penny, every little bit of stress and head-ache. The venue was better than I imagined it would be and I just can wait for the next summer to come.
Day One: Glenn, Armin, Mylo
Friday, the 31st of July 2009, the last day of a burning July, last day of a great month and a hack of a night to seize the mid-month of the summer.
I arrived at the location at 6 o’clock in the afternoon after an adventurous ride with the local maxi taxi’s and trains. I was a little bit concerned because the sky was very couldy, my hopes were that it won’t rain, like the last time Armin van Buuren visited Romania for Armin Only in 2008.
Unfortunately, with about a half an hour before the gates opened it started to rain and the wind was blowing pretty strong, so immediately the entrance tent became full of people hiding from the storm, hoping and praying that it won’t last. And we were lucky, because it was just a summer, fast storm, and the sky was clear about 10 minutes before the entrance began. We left the tent for the main scene, as Negru, then Livio & Roby (romanian house DJ’s) were warming up. Everything was set for a huge night! More >
Stoneface & Terminal – TrancENDancE @ Cocoloco Club Bucharest (21.02.2009) [Event Review]
Feb 22nd
Well, here I am Saturday night, a great trance party and no one to go with, because all my friends were at home in Ploiesti, well, at least the friends who love trance. Driven by two bottles of wine I finally took the decision to do something that I have never done before, go alone. So I call myself a cab and off I go to Cocoloco being among the first people to arrive at the scene.
I don’t regret a thing the party was great, the set was gret, the warm-up was great, the guys were great and extremely friendly, I like it when I see DJ’s havin a good time and anjoying what they are doing, communicating with the crowd.
Thank you Stoneface & Terminal for a wonderful show and hope to see you soon in Bucharest, or at least somewhere in Romania.
LE Also thanks to Snatt & Vix for a wonderful warm-up and for playing my request, Man On The Run

Paul Van Dyk @ The Roman Arenas Bucharest (10.10.2008)
Oct 11th
Ok I’m not going to get into detail like I did on my other blog (so if you’re romanian and intrested click here) but I will tell you this the organizing was crap, crap, crap, the biggest crap, the gig was organized in a small tent where you couldn’t even breathe, so moving or dancing is out of the question. Paul’s set didn’t quite impress me, I don’t know why exactly, maybe i was annoyed beacuse of the bad organizing and the 2 hours of minimal techno I had to endure as a warm-up. Plus I hated the fact that he didn’t “communicate” with the crowd, he just stood at the mixing decks in the dark with headphones on his head, minding his own business like we weren’t even there, at least that’s what I saw from the back of the tent. OK, enough about that, stay tuned for videos (good video quality, bad sound quality).
